Got the same issue. No big, as we just have ro right-click-save, but nonetheless surprising.

This is due to a new streaming feature added to SFK.
I'm not sure if this will affect all file types, but I know it works with mp4.
The beauty of it is that the streaming starts immediately, so there is less need for screenshots or previews, especially for short videos.

yep, can turn streaming off quickly.
the point was to move most attached assets to CDN, over SSL.
entire board is about to go SSL too

on the + side, it will download a heck of a lot faster for everyone. reducing the load on database forever.

*keep in mind none of this is native to vBulletin. while most cases are tested, some may have slipped.
older mp4 movies definitely have streaming errors, but there's no quick way to assess this from the server's end.

i started looking at a way to re-encode these problematic mp4s (and potentially encode new ones as they are uploaded )
again, this is a cms job, not a vBulletin thing.. but it's progress & turning off streaming results in download prompts again.

    *downloaders should now work

and we're now 100% SSL .. a 1st combined with CDN deep integration.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html is your best player option, mac or pc

downloading/save-as varies per browser, some call it `download linked file as` others `save as`

    Default Automatic download of files

When I click on a file, in the last 24 hours, instead of down loadng (MP4, AVI's , the file opens in window media player
